Seven Rivers, or Zhetysu - a vast area in the south-east of Kazakhstan, which is located between the north of Lake Balkhash, Alakol Sasykol and in the northeast, and Jungar Alatau mountain range in south-eastern and northern mountain ranges of the Tien Shan Mountains in the south.
The name of the region comes from the 7 major rivers that flow here - or Karatal, Bien, Aksu, Lepsa, Baskan and Sarkand.
In the northern part of Zhetysu, closer to the Balkhash desert begins array called Zhalkum. And there are quite curious education, so-called "Eden Lake".
The lake is known among the local population of therapeutic effect, for which they get their name.
These natural reservoirs are so rich in all kinds of minerals that water becomes denser than the human body - it is impossible to drown in them. Traced some similarities with the Israeli-Jordanian Dead Sea.
However, in contrast to the Dead Sea, in the Paradise Lakes animals inhabit. For example, water is very rich in all kinds of algae and tiny crustaceans Artemia salina. At high concentrations of krill water gets purple hue.
And another interesting feature: the lake formed, apparently, thermal waters as the water closer to the bottom is warmer than on the surface.
Around the lake - a real desert, with dunes, saxaul, lizards, turtles and other attributes of the climate zone in Kazakhstan.
With high altitude lake looks totally surreal.
Valley Lepsy - it extended an oasis in the desert.
