Rubber chicken, Camilla has risen to a height of 38,039 meters over California. During a solar storm last month, a group of students from the Earth to Sky California Bishop pumped helium balloon that lifted the chicken into space to study the effects of solar radiation.
Camilla, who is the mascot of the solar dynamics observatory NASA, has reached the stratosphere, along with sensors, cameras, GPS-tracker, a thermometer, and sunflower seeds. The flight lasted two and a half hours and ended at about 40 km before the balloon burst, and Camilla returned safely to Earth. (NASA / Reuters)
